Lubkinfinds Theatre Company
Origins
Lubkinfinds emerged from the collaboration between actor-director Robert Price and the writer Elizabeth Kuti. Our project is to make new and relevant theatre in a style that is stripped back to the essence of story, voice, and language. Our manifesto is to provide a thrilling and intense theatrical experience that values the imagination of the audience, the skill of the actor and the power of the word as the magical ingredients at the heart of the evening.
Lubkinfinds owes it existence to the city of Dublin, its theatre and its people, where Kuti and Price met in 1994 where they both enjoyed acting careers which between them spanned Archaos, the Abbey, the Gate, the Lyric Theatre in Belfast and many of Ireland's leading theatre companies including Rough Magic and Corn Exchange. Kuti's plays in Ireland were produced by the Abbey Theatre (Treehouses) and Rough Magic Theatre Company (The Whisperers; The Sugar Wife). Since 2004 they have been based in England where Kuti has combined writing and teaching at the University of Essex (where she directs the MA in Playwriting) and Price has continued on the Faculty of both Lamda and RADA, as voice coach, acting tutor and director.
Lubkinfinds made its American debut this year in Los Angeles, and looks forward to more gigs coming up in London, Bury St. Edmunds, Crete and the Sailors' Reading Room at Southwold. . . see our news page for more details!
